ERIC GOOSSENS
Eric Goossens studied communication sciences at the Catholic University of Leuven. Afterwards, he was an intern for a year at the Centre for Audiovisual Arts of CUL.
He was then asked by Erwin Provoost to organise several national and international workshops for the FEMI (Flemish Media Institute). He received artistic supervision by Frank Daniel, an American screenwriter. He also participated in several workshops on documentary making organised by the FEMI under the supervision of Stephen Peet from the BBC. In 1990, Eric Goossens joined Little Big One as a television producer to work on various projects for the VRT, RTBF and Canal+.
In 1995, Eric Goossens founded the production company Off World. In the years to come, the company produced many adverts and documentaries such as twelve documentaries for the series Hoge Bomen and the trilogies Kongo and Arm Wallonië.
Together with Anton Roebben, an exceptional animation expert and former colleague at Little Big One, Eric founded the production company Walking The Dog. This company produces creative animation films and series.
Eric Goossens is also the vice chairman of anim.be, an association of Belgian animation producers and he is also one of the propelling forces of FlandersDoc, the association of Flemish documentary producers.
FREDERIK NICOLAI
Frederik Nicolai is often mistaken for his
namesake who is legendary in the Brussels restaurant business. This Frederik Nicolai has no experience in the restaurant business none what so ever. Our Frederik Nicolai has been sharing his love for documentaries with Eric Goossens since 2002. Frederik started his career by executive producing short films suchas Haun and Carlo. Then he completely dedicated himself to authordocumentaries as well as producing (among other films) 4 Elements (Jiska Rickels, Fu Works, opening film of the International Documentary Film Festivalof Amsterdam 2006), Filmen zonder grenzen (Hans Heijen, NPS, Zeppers Film),Panna (Nordin Iasfar, NPS, Zeppers Film), Johnny Hoes (Hans Heijen, NPS,Zeppers Film),…
After years of commuting between Bruxelles and Amsterdam, Frederik chose Brussels as his home. Ever since, he has been working with Eric Goossens to expand the record and international network of Off World.
Besides being a direction coach for young filmmakers, Frederik is also a founding member of FlandersDoc.
